On World Earth Day, De Rijke Group proudly presents its first Sustainability Report. An important milestone that reflects how sustainability is becoming an increasingly integral part of our daily decision‑making.
As a family‑owned company with more than 80 years of history, we take a long‑term view. Sustainable growth requires responsibility, transparency and continuous improvement — not only for today, but for the future.
Turning ambition into action
In our Sustainability Report, we outline our approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics. Not as a separate initiative, but as a natural extension of how we run our business.
On the environmental side, this includes:
- a 30% CO₂ reduction target by 2030,
- continuous improvements within our fleet and transport operations,
- the development of modern, sustainable warehouses, including BREEAM Excellent certified locations in Spain and France.
At the same time, sustainability at De Rijke goes beyond emissions alone. Safety, quality, responsible use of materials and close collaboration with customers and partners are essential elements of responsible logistics.
People, transparency and collaboration
At De Rijke, sustainability starts with people. Our employees are central to our organisation, which is why we invest in a safe working environment, personal development and long‑term employability. Through initiatives such as the De Rijke Academy, alongside continued attention to vitality and engagement, we support our people in developing the skills needed for today’s and tomorrow’s logistics challenges.
At the same time, we believe that real progress can only be achieved together. By being transparent about our performance, choices and challenges, we strengthen cooperation within the supply chain and work closely with customers, suppliers and partners toward more sustainable logistics solutions.
